As a popular unpowered amusement facility, rainbow slides pose a high risk of accidents, such as collisions and riders flying off the track, due to the fast sliding speeds. Scientific anti-collision buffer design is the core of ensuring rider safety. It must comply with amusement facility safety standards and be systematically implemented through comprehensive protection, end-zone buffering, and side-edge防护.
First, optimize the deceleration and buffer design of the slide itself.
The slope gradient should be rationally planned to ensure smooth transitions, avoiding steep sections that cause excessive acceleration. Incorporating anti-slip deceleration textures helps naturally dissipate kinetic energy through friction, reducing collision risks at the source. All corners and joints of the slide must be rounded and soft-padded to eliminate sharp structures that could cause impact injuries, ensuring a smooth and controllable ride.
Second, strengthen the construction of the core buffer zone at the end.
A buffer run-out area of no less than 5 meters must be reserved at the end of the slide. This area should be covered with 30 to 50 cm thick high-density elastic padding or inflatable buffer facilities, which offer high energy absorption efficiency to effectively absorb the impact force of the sliding rider. The buffer zone must provide full, dead-angle-free coverage and strictly meet safety impact attenuation standards to prevent collisions or falls when riders come to a stop.
Finally, improve the side-impact protection system.
Gradient-style protective guardrails, at least 50 cm high, should be installed on both sides of the slide. The rails must be completely smooth and free of protrusions to prevent riders from sliding off or colliding with each other. Additionally, a routine maintenance and inspection system should be in place to regularly replace aged buffer materials and reinforce guardrail structures. Coupled with on-site safety management, these measures will comprehensively build a solid safety barrier for rainbow slides.
